Video Policy
How We Use and Verify Labor-Related Videos
A policy for official video embeds, human review, video schema and removal requests.
Why Video Verification Matters
Labor topics can be confusing, and official videos can help users understand filing steps, safety rights or program basics. But video embeds must be relevant, trustworthy and not misleading.
Allowed Video Sources
- Official DOL, OSHA, ETA, WHD or related agency channels.
- Official state labor/workforce/unemployment agency channels.
- Recognized nonprofit or educational videos only when official content is unavailable and the topic is general.
- No videos promising guaranteed benefits, legal outcomes or instant claim approval.
Video Verification Steps
- Confirm ownership. Prefer official government channel uploads.
- Watch before embedding. Confirm the video actually matches the article topic.
- Check freshness. Avoid old videos for portals, benefit rules or deadlines unless still officially featured.
- Add text summary. Do not rely on video alone; include written steps.
- Use safe embeds. Do not download, re-upload or claim ownership of third-party videos.
Video Schema Standard
If video schema is used, it must match a visible embedded video and should not conflict with WordPress/Yoast core schema. No fake duration, fake upload date or hidden video markup.
Removal Requests
If a video owner requests removal or an official video becomes outdated, we remove or replace it and update the related article text.
Useful Videos Must Be Verified
A video should clarify an official process, not decorate the page.
